Welcome to the Department of English.

Department of English is one of the premier departments to be set up in EWIT Family Flourishing under the inspiring principles and rightful direction laid by the Honorable Founder Chairman Late Shri. C M Nagaraj., Former BMP Mayor and Under the able guidance of late Shri C N Ravikiran, Former Chairman, EWGI, Smt. Rashmi Ravikiran, Chairman, EWGI, and Mr. Tejas Kiran C R., Secretary EWGI.

The department was established in 2015 with a view to impart literary and communicative skills along with soft skill training programe to all graduates and post graduates of all streams to enrich their literary capacities in the chosen area. The department follows university guidelines, VTU prescribed curriculum and initiates necessary changes in teaching, learning processes and evaluation practices at regular intervals. Studying literature here involves serving students to develop sophisticated reading and writing skills besides enabling them hone their critical processes for the understanding, appreciation and assessment of literary texts.

The Department owns the dual task of catering and mentoring students' in prescribed academic Curriculum (VTU) and Other In-house soft skills training programs according to the demand and needs of the organizations. The department exercises with the purpose of ensuring growth, grooming and fostering of critical perspectives of the learners.
